Case Study: A Storage Solution for Mass Media

Client: A National Television Network
Location: Miami, Florida

Challenge: This television Network's rapid growth resulted in scattered storage for its 78,000 videotapes. The Network faced increased demand for space as it continued its double-digit growth. It also faced a growing need to be able to rapidly access its video library.

Objective: Create a single site to store the Network's 78,000 tapes of various sizes and formats. The solution had to be easy to use and take up as little space as possible.

Solution: We prescribed specially designed Shelving mounted on Movable Carriages. Each of the 25 carriages is 30 feet long and contains shelving capable of storing VHS, Beta and CD storage. This solution used 70% less floor space.

Case Study: Document Imaging Brings Order And More

Client: Mortgage, Title & Real Estate Company
Location: Cooper City, FL

Challenge: This client has grown rapidly from a start-up to a significant competitor in each of its three businesses, Mortgage, Title, and Real Estate. It has quickly signed up hundreds of brokers to work under its umbrella. The company wanted to avoid storing paper in a very paper intensive business, yet allow easy access to historical documents.

Objective: Develop a simple system for scanning and indexing documents to meet the needs of all three businesses.

Solution: We designed a FileSymphony® solution whose versatility addresses the needs of the company across its three markets. We made it accessible over the Internet for scanning and viewing documents from their remote offices across the state and, soon, the nation.

Case Study: Police Bring Law & Order to Filing

Client: Police Department
Location: Miami, Florida

Challenge: This Police force faced problems of space and regularly lost or missing files. They needed to be able to quickly find files and control their access. Their top-tab filing cabinets were an impediment to bringing order to chaos.

Objective: Develop a new filing system that will store more files and be able to track the files as they move from location to location.

Solution: We first installed a bank of Rotary Files that accommodated their files and took up 70% less floor space. We then helped the client convert their existing top-tab folders to end tabs using Converters and NetLabels from GBS. Finally, we implemented a barcode tracking system to monitor file movement and chase down missing files.
